Crazy Game and Strange Ideas
- 17-10 Padres
It was a crazy game! Shawn Hill started and gave up nine runs in the first two innings. It looks like he’s going to be in the rotation, but I’m not sure if I really want him there. Luke Gregerson threw two solid innings, which is good. Heath Bell came into the ninth to save the game. He got a couple outs, but he allowed a single and stolen base. With the tying run at third, I think he got a full count on the last batter of the game. The hitter took a called strike to end the game. Heath was obviously not the best, but he got out of the inning.
The hitters did pretty well. They were behind badly, but they were able to get a few runs. Eliezar Alfonso and Brian Giles each hit a homer. Adrian Gonzalez had three hits. Jody Gerut had two hits. Some of the younger guys were really good. There was this one hitter on the other team, the Phillies, who was huge! He looked like he belongs in the next division. He just killed us. But our hitters did very well. They were able to get seven runs in the bottom of the sixth, though that fell seven runs short. Oh well. But it was a pretty cool game!
I mean, you win some, and you lose some. It was great to get that win after a great weekend, but we severed a five game winning streak! Let’s just hope we can get back on track as the season starts and goes on!
So, I was doing a little research on the Padres’ new owner, Jeff Moorad. Apparently he has a lot of new plans for the Padres. Very interesting…Petco Park is certainly going to be very different with him in control. First of, he loved carousels when he was a kid. As a result, he thinks the Friar Faithful would like to have some carousels around the park.
Of course, you would have to pay to go on one of these.
His menu improvements seem like they would be pretty drastic as well. He’s been in Arizona for a while, so I think he’s picked up some weird ideas from there. For example, he thinks that San Diego fans would appreciate special food like THIS
and THIS

EWWW!!!!
But the best part is that Moorad believes that this guy needs to be back in a Padres uniform next year:

Now that makes me like Moorad, no matter what weird ideas he has!!
Today we are the playing the White Sox…probably. Chris Young might be starting. Who knows if the game will start at 1:05? Maybe we will win!
I hope you all have a great day! Haha!

The Padres play a lot of crazy games. Didn’t they have a 22 inning game against the Rockies last year? Petco looks like a very nice park. I wish I visit there once in my life.

HOMER, as it happens, it seems like the Padres play a lot of crazy games agains the Rockies!
JANE, yep

April Fools!
JULIA, yeah, football score, but also Little League score!
HYUN YOUNG, exactly!
EVERYONE, by the way, Happy April Fool’s Day!
Kaybee,
Great post! I wouldn’t worry about your pitcher too much. Beckett didn’t have his best outing of the spring, and I’m not TOO concerned.
This new owner looks like he will do a lot to help the Padres. I have a good feeling about Trevor coming back next year
